Daryl Z. Laisure – President and CEO
Daryl Laisure has more than twenty years of experience in business operations, management, and contracting with government agencies and commercial industries. Mr. Laisure joined ZIN Technologies, Inc. in 1993 as a part owner and Vice President of Operations and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer and President in 1997. Under Mr. Laisure’s leadership, ZIN Technologies has expanded its customer base and product line, increased its value and revenues, and received numerous awards for performance excellence.

Mr. Laisure obtained his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in Cleveland, Ohio and he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance from the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Laisure is involved with many charitable and professional organizations. He is a member of The Presidents’ Council, The Greater Cleveland Roundtable, and Leadership Cleveland.


Carlos M. Grodsinsky, Ph.D. – Chief Operating Officer and Sr. Vice President of Technology

Carlos Grodsinsky joined ZIN Technologies bringing over twenty years’ progressive leadership experience with IR&D, R&D and product development in active/passive vibration control, radiation detection and space flight instrumentation markets. Dr. Grodsinsky has managed large programs and product development initiatives within both the government and industry bringing a proven track record in technology development, transfer and new product launch. Dr. Grodsinsky leads ZIN’s operations as our Chief Operations Officer and our growth within the Aerospace and Medical markets as well as providing his technical expertise across ZIN’s market segments. Most recently, he is leading the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Council as its chairmen as well as being voted to the State’s legislative Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee. Both organizations lead the representation and support of the aerospace industry in Ohio, advocating and providing representation for the states aerospace interests.

Dr. Grodsinsky earned a Doctorate and Masters of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University, a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Mathematics from Kalamazoo College. He has written numerous publications on the subject of active vibration control, magnetic bearing technology and radiation detectors.


Gary W. Mynchenberg – Chief Financial Officer and Sr. VP of Administration

Gary Mynchenberg began his career at ZIN Technologies, Inc. in 1991. Prior to ZIN, Mr. Mynchenberg worked in public accounting with both Touche Ross and Company and Deloitte Haskins and Sells. He has more than thirty years of experience in the areas of government contracting, finance, and accounting. He has previously served as ZIN-Tech’s Controller and Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Mr. Mynchenberg earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cleveland State University and attained his Certified Public Accountant status in the State of Ohio. Mr. Mynchenberg is married to JoAnn and resides in South Russell, Ohio. He is active in numerous community groups.


Mike Johanson – Vice President of Space Technologies Program & Business Development

Mr. Johanson has over 20 years of experience in management, engineering and business development for the Aerospace and Defense Industries. He has a broad base of experience having previously worked McDonnell Douglas Aerospace and Northrop Grumman in support of NASA Centers and initiatives at both the Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville, Alabama and most recently at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Johanson has managed several large NASA contracts and has a proven track record in all phases of both ground and flight spaceflight hardware and software development including concept definition, hardware design, test, product verification, certification, experiment and carrier integration, mission operations support / infrastructure and post-flight evaluation. Mr. Johanson has particular expertise in Systems Engineering and active and passive thermal and environmental control and life support systems. His project engineering and management experience includes efforts in support of Spacelab carriers, Spacehab, the International Space Station, the Fluids and Combustion Facility, the Space Shuttle Orbiter, Russian Spacecraft, numerous microgravity science experiments and the NASA GRC Telescience Support Center development and operations. Mr. Johanson currently serves as ZIN’s Commercial Space Program Manager and Business Development Manager.

Mr. Johanson earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 1987 from the University of Tennessee and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee Space Institute in 1989.


Brian Finley – Vice President of Space Science Program

Brian Finley has over 20 years’ experience in development and management for the Aerospace Industry. Mr. Finley has been involved in all phases of space hardware development including system concept definition, software development, hardware design, verification testing, and mission support. He has managed both large and small payloads operated on the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station and brings a proven track record for managing all aspects of space payload development. Mr. Finley’s extensive experience includes managing several large contracts and projects for NASA Glenn Research Center. Mr. Finley has particular expertise in Systems Engineering and Microgravity measurement and analysis. He has co-authored several papers on the subject of Microgravity measurement and the Microgravity environment in low Earth orbit aboard the Space Shuttle.

Mr. Finley currently serves as ZIN’s Program Manager for the Space Flight Development and Operations Contract (SpaceDOC) at NASA Glenn Research Center. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the contract which designs, builds and operates microgravity payloads on the International Space Station. Mr. Finley earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc.


Alan Chmiel – Vice President of Commercial Space and Medical

Mr. Chmiel has over 15 years of experience in the aerospace and medical device industries. While at ZIN He has managed multiple contracts for NASA as well as in the private sector. These efforts include Hardware design, Medical Device Development and Clinical Trials. He has lent design, testing, validation and verification expertise to many external customers including NASA, McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, ESA, Eaton, EADS CASA, Ruag (Oerlikon) and the US Air Force. Mr. Chmiel holds multiple patents in sensors and signal processing in the Aerospace and Medical fields.

Mr. Chmiel Currently serves as the Program Manager for ZIN’s Medical Operations. He earned a BSEE from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996.


Robbie Bruewer – Administration & Marketing Communications Manager
Robbie Bruewer provides office management support and coordinates ZIN’s marketing/promotional initiatives. She is responsible for facility management, government security requirements, and office personnel. She is also responsible for marketing and providing communications on behalf of the corporation. Ms. Bruewer has been with ZIN Technologies for over 20 years. She has over 35 years of experience in office administration, management and marketing/promotional development.


Denise Benning-Ybarra – Human Resources

Denise Benning-Ybarra has over 25 years of experience in Management, Finance and Human Resources in both government contracting and commercial industries. Denise manages all Human Resources functions in the areas of staffing, orientation, employee relations, compliance/risk management, performance management, training and salary administration. She is ZIN’s EEOC compliance officer.

Ms. Ybarra earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from St. Mary’s College of California. She is a SHRM-Certified Professional.

ZIN Technologies announces first ISS operation of BCAT-KP. ZIN Technologies, a CASIS implementation partner and collaborator, is proud to announce the first ISS operation of BCAT-KP; a recurring and fast track applied science investigation platform.

NASA’s Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland, Ohio leads the SCaN Testbed multi-center team. ZIN Technologies is a key contributor to NASA GRC on the SCaN Testbed which has been successfully implemented onboard the International Space Station.

Astronaut praises NASA Glenn Research Center’s role in her latest flight. In partnership with the Cleveland Clinic, ZIN Technologies created a new harness design for NASA Glenn that is much more comfortable than past harnesses – astronaut Karen Nyberg said “the design they came up with was spectacular.”
