Fluid Power, Corporate Law, and ZIN Technologies Awarded for Supplier Diversity Efforts 3/7/2007 Supply Chain Management held its 2nd Annual Supplier Diversity Conference on February 13, 2007; to strengthen relationships with diverse businesses, create organizational alignment with commodity strategies, and reward key contributors. In order to achieve our Supplier Diversity goals, Eaton needs employees and suppliers that exhibit a Passion for Excellence, the right Attitude and Knowledge. To recognize the Eaton group, functional department, and supplier that demonstrated “Best in Class” support of Eaton’s Supplier Diversity initiatives in 2006, the PEAK of EXCELLENCE Awards were presented by Supply Chain at the conference. The PEAK OF EXCELLENCE Award was presented to Fluid Power as the most aggressive group in increasing its overall spending with diverse suppliers, with Aerospace being highlighted for outstanding results in 2006. Aerospace's initial target for spend with minority and women-owned businesses was $31 million; yet by the beginning of the 3rd quarter in 2006 they were already tracking beyond this mark. As a result, the Supply Chain organization asked for an additional $12 million which brought their target to $43 million. Aerospace finished the year almost 55% percent above the original goal, coming in at an outstanding $48 million. The Corporate Law Function received the PEAK of EXCELLENCE Award for its on-going support and creativity in meeting the Supplier Diversity challenge. The Corporate Law Function utilized the 2006 conference to build upon their relationship with a national supplier, Adorno & Yoss. Adorno & Yoss provided legal services in support of an Eaton divestiture. The unique business relationship led to an article, “Forming Strategic Alliances: Creating Opportunities”, including a cover photo in a national publication. The Supplier PEAK of EXCELLENCE Award was presented to ZIN Technologies for its support in the development of the Air Refueling Boom System for Aerospace. Eaton enlisted ZIN's expertise for the High Voltage Power Supply. ZIN was able to develop a suitable platform and demonstrated the concept with a working breadboard prototype within 2-3 months.
