ZIN Technologies is awarded the second year option of the MRDOC (Microgravity Research Development and Operations Contract) from NASA GRC.
11/5/2006
NASA's Glenn Research Center has elected to exercise the 2nd option year of the Microgravity Research Development and Operations Contract (MRDOC) with ZIN Technologies. This contract option spans from January 1st, 2007 through December 31st, 2007. Under the Microgravity Research Development and Operations Contract (MRDOC) ZIN Technologies designs, builds and verifies space flight hardware to conduct microgravity research aboard the International Space Station. The United States Laboratory Module on the ISS will contain the Fluids and Combustion Facility (FCF), designed and built by ZIN for the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The FCF is being developed to accommodate the unique challenges of working with fluids and combustion processes in microgravity, as well as to provide services and capabilities comparable to those found in traditional Earth-based laboratories. In addition to the FCF, ZIN Technologies has also built several smaller Microgravity Science GloveBox Experiments due to be delivered to the ISS in the coming year as well as several that are currently onboard the ISS.
