    Quality Assurance Special Achievement Recognition (QASAR) Award

    Glenn Research Center has awarded ZIN Technologies, Inc. 2003 Quality Assurance Special Achievement Recognition (QASAR) Award. ZIN was cited for its exception work by its independent Safety and Quality System for International Space Station (ISS) payloads. ZIN is currently developing and operating numerous payloads for the ISS.

    Vernon Wessel, GRC Director of Safety and Assurance, stated: “ZIN has consistently demonstrated a commitment to applying quality principles in their day-to-day work. ZIN meets monthly with GRC to raise potential areas of quality concern for discussion and early resolution to mitigate risk and cost to the contract.”

    “This award honors ZIN’s commitment and dedication to the nation’s manned spaceflight program,” said Daryl Laisure, ZIN Tech’s President and CEO.

    The award specifically noted ZIN’s outstanding collaborative efforts with GRC on the Smoke Points In Coflow Experiment (SPICE). ZIN’s efforts to reduce costs and risks due to potential combustion gas bottle redesigns were especially noted.
